1. The couple who ran the booth had an odd, ethereal air to them that seemed to call to a part of him that he didn’t even know existed, and he found himself at the threshold almost before realizing what he had done.
2. Strangely, he doesn't feel upset at all.
3. "No," he responds, sadly, "I'm not."
4. Yeah, Axel definitely went in the weird category.
5. When she was done, she smiled at his shocked expression.
6. Kairi took the envelope from her, but waited to hear her elaboration.
7. He doesn't understand it, can't explain it, and he doesn't know what's going to happen, but he can't bring himself to stop it.
8. But you’re barely even using it! he protested.
9. It caused Phoenix to stop in his tracks, confusion washing over him.
10. "I am going to use any means necessary, and I will not feel sorry for whoever I have to step on to get there."
11. "That’s kinda kinky, actually."
12. Sora, who had been munching on some toast, was not so lucky, and his toast fell out of his mouth and landed in his orange juice.

So. Let's say you're a writer. And you're writing a story. With me so far?
Your story is about, idk, RAINBOWS. You, as a writer, need to also talk about a thing that isn't RAINBOWS. Let's use FLOWERS AND BUNNIES as an example :) Your story is third-person-limited. The main character, the person you're telling this story through... doesn't want to talk about FLOWERS AND BUNNIES. Your narrator wants to talk about RAINBOWS instead, and doesn't want anything to do with FLOWERS or BUNNIES. It's perfectly possible to talk about FLOWERS AND BUNNIES AND RAINBOWS, of course, but the narrator isn't really aware of that in the context of the story.
But in order for the story to make sense, the writer has to talk about FLOWERS AND BUNNIES and how they relate to RAINBOWS. So how do you write about FLOWERS AND BUNNIES with a narrator who, in the context of the story, doesn't think that FLOWERS AND BUNNIES can or should be in the same story as RAINBOWS or isn't aware they're related at all? How do you talk about FLOWERS AND BUNNIES and how they relate to RAINBOWS without saying "The narrator was talking about RAINBOWS and not mentioning FLOWERS AND BUNNIES at all :D"

Rating: High PG-13. Mentions of mature situations and/or implications, including sexual ones. Kinda disturbing if you get all the implications.
Summary: Post-KH2. Riku-centric. Sora/Riku, OT5ish (w/mentions of past Akuroku). Everyone is safe and everyone is home, and yet there are things still unsaid.
Notes: Unbeta'd fic gives a Riku even more woe, lol. It's technically canon for the crossover verse, but you don't need to understand the crossover timeline to understand this fic.
